ABNOBA GmbH is one of the few medium-sized pharmaceutical companies in Germany that does its own research.
Problem complexes on cytotoxicity*), on relapse prophylaxis**) and on the life-prolonging action of our medications form the foci of our research in this context. For more information on this subject see also the sub-point 'Studies' in the 'Current'menu item.
The term ‘clinical research’ describes the investigation of drug action on the patient and his or her illness. We reject the concept of research that is exclusively oriented toward the clinical picture.
The ethical, scientific and statutory requirements on this research are continuously adapted to the current status and form the framework for the clinical research for our medicinal products.The adaption of the requirements to the state of the science also means that existing clinical studies and observations only partially fulfil the respective currently valid demands.
An objective of the manufacturers of anthroposophic, homeopathic and plant medicinal products is to enable a medicinal therapy which includes the entire human organism and to provide scientific evidence for its effectiveness. Included in this are the desire to “combat” the causes and effects of the disease in particular and to achieve lasting recovery.

We understand the “inviolable dignity of humankind” particularly in the context of medical research not as a passive, protective right, but also in the sense of promoting an active, self-determined shaping of life.
*) The direct, killing action on cells or the cells of the tumour is termed cytotoxicity.
**) A therapy for relapse prophylaxis is appropriate to prevent the recurrence of a tumour disease, e.g. after a successful operation or radiation therapy.
